A lot of people have pets and those people love those pets. They have to take care of them, give them love, and give them whatever they need or want. Everyone has at least experienced a pet passing away, so that’s why I'm going to talk about my dog Timmy. One day, my mom told me and my brother about this dog named Taco that was at the pound so my mom, brother, and I all drove up to Ojai pound to see this dog. We entered and looked around for the dog and we saw Taco. He was so mean, he tried to bite us and barked at us. He just did not want to be with anyone. We saw these two dogs right next to him and they are both brothers and their names were Timmy and Tommy their previous owners used to abuse them. They were both only five years old, pretty young and both chihuahuas. They looked really alike they were both white, but Tommy had a brown spot over his eye. My brother and my mom said they both liked Tommy, but I liked Timmy. We asked the helpers to get Tommy out of the cage so we could see him, but Tommy was really mean and he did not want to be held or touched. He was growling and trying to bite us. So, we put him back and asked to see Timmy. Timmy was the best thing ever, he was so cute and all he wanted was to be loved. We told the people that we wanted to adopt Timmy and so we did, but there was all of this paper work and we had to have a house inspection and Timmy had to meet our other dog Nacho. who was also a chihuahua. All of this happened and Timmy and Nacho got along very nice. We got Timmy in about April of 2008 and everyone loved him. Whenever someone came over, even though you were a stranger, all he wanted to do was to sit on your lap. Timmy would not bark that much, only when someone came through the door. Everyone told us he was a seal pup because he looked like one and Timmy would do the funniest things like for example, he would do a handstand when ever he went pee. Then one day, I was with my dad heading to my house, and my mom told me that Timmy got attacked by another dog. When she told me that, my heart dropped and I did not believe her. She told me that they were on a walk and a siberian husky ran outside and just attacked Timmy. He had our dog holding him in his mouth, as if our dog was food or a toy. So my step dad opened the dog’s mouth and gave Timmy to my mom. My mom ran home to put the other dogs away, and drove to the animal hospital. She had blood all over her and there was blood on the floor. A couple weeks later we got a call telling us that we could take him home. It crushed my heart when I saw him. He had stitches on his belly, the side, and had a cast on his arm, with a tube going through his body. He could hardly do anything except barely walk. We had to give him medicine, and fed him through a syringe, because he could not chew due to his broken jaw. We did not know what to do, he was in so much pain. The vets said he had not much longer to live. So we spent a lot of time with him. He ended up passing away in his sleep. We said our last words and pet him a little before we said goodbye and sent him to the cremator. The people that owned the dog that attacked our dog did not really care about Timmy. They did not pay for some of the bills, but we thought that they should put their dog down for what he did to our dog. Our other two dogs were also sad. He died when I was going into 5th grade. I had to tell all my friends what had happened to him. I know what’s it like to have a pet die. I also know what it’s like losing a loved one.
